Little Logan

It is with great sadness in my heart that I write today. Our dear friends Jay and Molly lost their little girl Logan this weekend. Although she was only with us for a short time, she has made a lasting and significant impact on all of us. She has reminded us how precious our family and friends are, and to appreciate them and be present with them every day. Hug your children, spouse, family and friends today and tell them how much you love them.

Jay, Molly, Mia and their extended family are in our thoughts and prayers as they journey through this difficult time.

Three Months Already

Kyle is 3 months old, I can't believe it. He's a lot of fun these days, smiling up a storm. Alice has become obsessed with dress up lately. It's hard to get her out of the door without any dress up clothes. She's had a few very interesting outfits at school the past 2 weeks.

Kyle's First Day of School - I took him in for a few hours for a test run, I go back to work on July 8th.

He quickly grew a mustache to match his leisure suit

Yea - He has finally found his thumb!

Swim School

We started taking swim lessons this summer. Alice has absolutely no fear of the water, so we needed her to learn and 'respect' the water. She still doesn't get the whole danger aspect, but at least she is starting to maneuver through the water a little better. She is going to give her Dad and me a heart attack with her 'no fear' attitude.

Crab and Shrimp Boil

We busted out the turkey fryer again for Dinner Club, this time Tom put together a Clam Bake/Seafood Boil.

Here's Tom with the goods

Lots and lots of food

Yummers - I love that we didn't have to use plates, way more fun & less dishes to clean

Here is the gang diving into the Seafood Bake

Here is a series of photos that shows Doc Schmoops, errr...I mean 'Crazy Chicken', eating his first clam ever.

Dipping it in LOTS of butter

Not liking the texture!

Ollie and Kyle

I was trying to get some photos of Ollie the Octopus and Kyle the other day, especially since they matched. Kyle was a little too big for Ollie's lap to lay down unassisted, so these funny photos came out.

Hey There - I'm barely hanging on

Uh Oh, going for a nose dive

Shhhh, don't tell Alice, Kyle took a nap in her bed while she was away at school.

Fun Family Weekend

We had a super fun weekend, it started with Mark and Erin flying into town for Sara and Ben's wedding. The wedding was a lot of fun, and we all cruised to the wedding in our fancy wedding attire. My parents came into town to watch the kids for my first official night out...won't be doing that again for awhile. I had a painful next day.

Kir and Shane came into town on Saturday for a family dinner. The kids put on a talent show for all of us, they were very entertaining. We all brushed up on the many versus of Mary Had a Little Lamb.

Cruising to Ben and Sara's wedding, fortunately the weather was perfect for it.

The Lovely Couple

hmmm, looks like this couple may be ready for a baby of their own. :)

The cousins put on a talent show for all of us, Alice didn't know the words to this song, so she 'wowed' us with her riding skills.

Potty Time

So we have started to dabble in potty training over the last few months. It hasn't been going that great, Alice goes potty at school but has little interest in it at home. Sigh. Yesterday was a fun little conversation I had with her regarding the subject:

Alice: 'I need to go poop.'
Mom: 'Why don't you go poop on the potty.'
Alice: 'I can't. Kyle is going poop on the potty.'
Mom: 'Umm, Kyle is right here'...I'm nursing him, not to mention he's only 2 months old.
Alice: 'Oh. Swiper the Fox is going poop on the potty.'
Mom: 'Well, you can use the potty after Swiper is done.'
Alice: 'No, Swiper going poop all day long.'

Drat! She got me, I don't have a good comeback for this one as I'm starting to laugh. Then enters Dad, I explain we've got a potential situation to get Alice to go poop on the potty. Tom goes to help...

Dad: 'Alice, did you already go poop?'....Yep.

Alice - 1 point for negotiation skills
Mom - 1 point for avoiding another poppy diaper, thanks Dad. :)

Our Big Boy

We had Kyle's 2 month apt today. Everything checked out OK, including his weight! He's weighing in at 14 lb and 2 ozs - big boy! He's currently not too happy about the spot where the shot went, poor guy. Could be a long day.

Happy Baby at his 2 month check up

Ouch - Not so happy after his immunization

Alice walked out and let me know she was 'fancy'. I swear she is going to break a leg wearing those shoes, she's not very coordinated in heels.

Alice was 'decorating' Kyle. When I told her that was not a good idea, she informed me that 'He likes it Mom.'

Hanging Around the House

Each day is becoming easier and easier, Kyle is doing great. He is a very happy baby, and has stated to smile and giggle quite a bit. He has also started to sleep up to 6 hours a night, so our family is not nearly as sleep deprived anymore. Here are a just a few photos of the past few days.
