Dressing Up

Dress up has become a staple at the Mogensen House recently. We still need to work on what goes well together, what's appropriate to wear outside and what just plain 'ol doesn't work.

Danish Royalty

Tom's Grandmother Maren lives in Chicago at the Danish Old People's Home (no, I'm not making up the name, it's really called that). Recently the Crown Prince of Denmark made a trip to Chicago and visited the lovely ladies that live there. Maren is on the right, totally rubbing elbows with royalty!!! Too cute!

Baby Update

We went to the doctor yesterday, and there isn't much new news to report. I've only dilated 1/2 cm since last week, and I think he may have made that up to make me feel better. So the waiting game continues. I took it pretty easy last week, so I'm throwing that out the window and plan to do my normal routine again. We'll see if we can get this baby moving.

Not much room to spare....we're starting grow to the side rather than forward. :(

Max's Red Egg Party

We celebrated Max's Red Egg party tonight. It is a traditional Chinese party where the parents introduce their latest addition to friends and relatives. The parents hand out red-dyed eggs, symbolizing happiness and the renewal of life. We felt very honored to be invited, and thank the Wongs for including us.

Yay!!!

We celebrated my birthday 2 days early with Tom and Alice, and I got one fabulous present - the fancy camera I've been coveting for months!!!! YAY! I'm so excited I can't stand it! Thank you to my wonderful husband for being so generous and thoughtful. So now I'm cramming to learn how to use it before the arrival of Mini Mogy #2.

Making The Move

Sorry I haven't updated the blog recently, we've been busy getting ready for our new arrival. As most of you have heard, it appears Mini Mogy #2 is making their move ahead of schedule. We went to the doctor on Monday, and I'm already dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced. We were basically told to wrap up all our loose ends this week, so that is exactly what we're doing.

Alice can sense that something is going on, and she is not too thrilled about it. She has certainly been testing boundaries and seeing how crazy she can make her parents. I think Erin Mogensen has called it: 'Maybe Alice is acting up as a way to scare Mini Mogy to staying put for another week - she's just trying to help!' I think she's right. :)

We'll keep everyone posted of what's going on, but I've probably jinxed myself and will be this pregnant 3 weeks from now. Lord help me if that happens! In the meantime, here are some photos from the past few weeks.

I Love Dora

Alice is in love with Dora, and was soooo excited to meet her this weekend. It was also a big step for mom....although you can't tell from this photo, I was within 3 feet of Dora! That was a pretty huge feat considering my complete fear/disgust of mascots. Sigh, what we will do for our children.
