The Year of the Headband

Not sure if y'all have heard, but it's the Year of the Headband in the Mogensen household. I've been known to don a headband after a few cocktails (well, maybe more than a few). But who would have thought that our Little Alice would take on the fashion trend as well...

Mama Mogensen, wearing a Thomas Pink tie as my headband (thanks again Frank).

This is what Alice chose to wear to school today....LOVE HER!

Hair Salon

Kyle had his first haircut the other day, he sat still for about 5 minutes. Unfortunately for the stylist (who's my bosses wife), the hair cut took 10 minutes. Tracy literally ran around the salon cutting his hair towards the end. Nothing like disrupting the entire salon with a crazy 1 year old.

Not so happy

Check out my snazzy new hair cut...can you say bowl cut?

Here's Alice's new 'doo' for Dad.... not sure if it really fits his personality. :) Can you say 'Dumb and Dumber'?

We're Getting Crafty

As you all know, Tom and I aren't the most crafty folks alive. But we need to step it up, since we bought a house built in 1892 and it needs some major work. Here's our first run...

Apparently, Alice loves painting. This will be good for our new house, every room needs a new paint job.

Here's our basement of our current house before the makeover....

ooooh lala, doesn't it look so much nicer?!?!?!?

Sun River Get Away

We headed to Sun River for 5 days with the Grinnells and Wongs. It was a lot of fun, and a great break from all the house prep we've been doing. The boys played lots of golf and the kids were busy with bike riding, swimming, etc.

Pool Time

Harmony....they all played together really well

Alice and Gabby had a smack down because they both wanted to ride with Rowan. Alice won Round 1, and Round 2 went to Gabby.

Mr. 'No Fear' Kyle Mogensen, he climbs through play grounds like he is 7...a little scary for mom

Cheese!

Just like her dad, going down the fire pole.

The old school tire swing

A HUGE Thank You

I would like to give a big shout out to Dennis and Kathy, they have been saving our bums the past 3 weeks. They have taken the kids pretty much every day so we could get our house ready. And not only have they watched the kids, they have packed boxes, done our laundry, let us use their garage as a storage unit and fed us when we were so tired we couldn't even think of what to do.

Dennis and Kathy, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support you have given us the past few weeks. We literally have no idea how we would have gotten everything done without your help! We feel so fortunate to have you in our lives and love you dearly!

Camp Saw

My parents arrived on Friday and left with the kids on Saturday for Camp Saw. My mom just sent some photos on their visit so far, it appears the kids are having a great time. We are putting the house on the market today, so it's nice to have a kid free house for any showing this week (keep our fingers crossed).
Apparently Kyle is obsessed with the pea gravel

Where Have The Mogensen's Been?

We have been cleaning, packing, painting, organizing, etc. Man, it's a lot of work to get a house ready for the market! It will all be worth it, right? At least that's what we're telling ourselves.

Donny, our realator, got us into the house to let the kids see it. I took a few more photos, mostly to capture how the house is currently decorated. it's amazing. They are antique buffs and have so many throughout the house. I wish everyone could see for themselves, it's quiet impressive.

Part of our secret garden

Fiesta wear explosion

When ever I get over-whelmed with our packing, I think of how much the current owners have to pack. This is just a small fraction of their CD collection.
Here's part of the kitchen, we'll be living with the 60's sink and stove top for awhile. Check out all the pig cutting boards...we're secretly hoping they leave one for us.

Can you imagine taking these pillows off every night before you go to bed. We counted about 50, wow.

Yummmm, Come Se Llamas...

Harvesting our first crop

Olive Lady...notice all the boxes in the background. We are living in chaos these days
