The Floors! The Floors!

So here is the story of our floors (that I'm sure most of you are SICK of hearing about).... We needed hardwoods:
1. Because we love hardwood
2. We have children and carpet + messy children = STAIN DISASTERS!

We had decided to put in new floors and began tearing out the carpet, only to find layers of linoleum, which led us to the original hardwoods. Basically, they looked like crap and I was all about new. Tom, on the other hand, was on a mission to save these suckers and enlisted a charge of people to convince me otherwise. So, Tom convinced me to save 'em, and all I can say is: Tom, you were right! They are gorgeous!!!!
Carpet...gotta go.
What was discovered underneath....
7 days of sanding by a Jesse Jackson and 2 days of finishing! I'm all about Jackson Flooring!
Entry way before...
and after!
Now onto to replacing the floor boards and paint.....

Working Hard

The work has begun. My parents came into town for 3 days and did some major pruning in the yard. They also washed windows, fixed all sorts of odds and ends, cleaned, etc. Thanks mom and dad, we appreciate all the work!

Alice & Gramie putting up some sample paint.

This is just part of the mound that my parents excavated from our garden! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Let me introduce you to our newest friend, the stray cat. Mom, Alice and Kyle are very excited about our new friend. Dad....not so much!

We're SOLD! I didn't want to talk about it until it was official, but we've sold our house! Yee Haw!

Family Photos

We had Jen Schow come over for Family Photos at the new house. She does on incredible job, highly recommend her. Here is a sneak peak of some of the photos she took.

Our hardwood floors are just about done, so we're moving back into the house. Yea! Photos of the transformation will be coming soon!

Getting Ready to Move

We're in the process of getting ready to move. Lots of packing and moving box by box to the new house. We aren't officially moving in until we get hardwoods on the first floor. In the meantime, we're hanging out at the house having a good time.

Day 1: The kids hung out by the tomato plants and ate them all day.

Day 1: Kyle tears apart the front steps

Day 3: Harvesting our first crop of green beans. Boise Friends - please feel free to go in our back yard and pick as many vegetables as you'd like. We have more tomatoes, green beans, squash, grapes and cucumbers than we know what to do with!

Sigh.....

Mom, Kyle's in the Bathtub

Normally I don't flinch at this statement, but tonight was different because we had already gotten Kyle ready for bed....

Look at how smug he is!

Kyle was trying to touch his tongue to his nose

and so was Alice

Thank You Very Much

Going to see Willie

Dad took Alice to her first concert, Willie Nelson. I guess Alice danced the night away and really enjoyed the show. I believe Dad is super excited to have a child that enjoys Willie!
