Granny's 100th Birthday

We were in Chicago the last few days celebrating the 100th birthday for Tom's grandmother. It was a joyous and wonderful few days, and it was celebrated with all the Mogensens. Everyone came near and far to wish Maren a very special 100th birthday. The festivities began with a party where she lives, 'The Danish Home'. Day 2 continued with a good old fashion get together, that included eating, eating, eating, some family fun olympics, eating and eating.

This use to be called 'The Old People Danish Home'...they have become a little more PC in the last few years.

Here is the sweet and lovely Maren Mogensen on her 100th birthday

Happy 100!!!!

Granny getting some love from Kyle

Santa came down from the North Pole to help Granny celebrate. He brought along t-shirts for all the great grandchildren.

Here is Granny with her 19.5 (one is still cooking) Oldebarns....aka Great Grandchildren

This was the BEST cake I have ever eaten in my entire life! I had 3 pieces 2 days in a row.... don't judge me, it really was that good.

Here Tom is with Oldebarn #18 and #19

Alice feeling right at home with the Cubie blanket Mark let her use while we stayed at their house. Thank you to Mark and Erin for letting us stay at your place and driving us all around the city!!!!

Kyle hanging out with Karen who came out from Denmark. I think he's laughing at the all the Danish words she's saying to him. Hey, she sounds just like me! :)

Ahh, Pure Love.

Helmet Bound

As most of you may have heard, Mr. Kyle has to wear a helmet to re-shape his head. In the grand scheme of things, not that big of deal, but it's still a little hard to swallow (at least for mom). Being a mom, anything that goes wrong with your kids, you automatically blame yourself. So I'm feeling 'It's all my fault' & 'I should have done more' to prevent this. We get the helmet in 2 weeks and he will have to wear it between 3 and 6 months (23 hours a day). Awesome. I know Kyle could care less that he's wearing it, but be sensitive to Mom when you see me, because I'm the one having the issues with it.

What up homie...this is the sweet hat you get to wear before they scan your lopsided head.
Hold still, it's scan time!
A nice diagram to pinpoint all the 'problem' areas
Any excuse to wear a band-aid.

Check me out, I'm a 'urban' cowboy.

Forget that rice cereal crap, I DIG bananas!

Bob Bob and Gramie came by for a visit on their way camping. Thanks for taking care of the kids while we went to Dr. Schmoops 40th Bday Party!

Happy Kiddos

I can't believe it, we're nearing 6 months old!!! Mr. Kyle is one happy and mellow boy, just like his Dad. He's full of smiles and giggles, and will laugh hysterically at Alice and she loves it. Seriously, she will be a total goof ball and fall on the floor 50 times just to make Kyle laugh. He will only laugh when she falls or does some sort of '3 Stooges' move. They in turn, make me laugh and thank my lucky stars for such wonderful kids.

Good thing we're going to Chicago next weekend, we need to get a non-pink Bears Jersey.

Tom's Aunt Madalyn (who's a phenomenal photographer) did some prego photos for us. Here are just a few of my favorites. Thank you Madalyn, We Love Them!

Bye Bye Summer

Getting ready for football season, Go Bears!

Alice feeding baby...this baby is a little too realistic. Tom and I have both been completely freaked out when we run across her in precarious spots, thinking it is Kyle.

I know you will all find this shocking, but Kyle digs the rice cereal.

Lip Carnage

Mom got fed up with Kyle waking up in the middle of the night, so I banished him to the kitchen, closed the doors and let him cry it out. Hmmm...do you think we need a bigger house? :)

One Little Monkey

jumping on the bed, she fell off and bit through her lip!!!! Well, we made our first trip to the ER last night, Miss Alice was jumping on the bed and fell off and did a number on her lip. She managed to bite through her lower lip and hit her upper pretty good too. Tom and I were at the BSU vs. UO game (Go Broncos!) when it happened, so I was a little horrified when I picked her up after the game. She was a real trouper at the ER, and let the doctor check her out without crying (fortunately no stitches required & all teeth are OK). When we were walking into the hospital she said: WOW, look at the castle!!! Too cute.

Poor girl, she looks like a Duck or Angelina Jolie on steroids! It's way worse today!
